The personalised, modern and colourful version of the successful Titan Minimal Art model was crowned with the 2018 Red Dot Award for product design. This was the ninth time the iconic eyewear has won the prize. The innovative design of the Accent Rings collection, which is neither a true “rimless” style, nor a classic full-rim model, is regarded as trailblazing. Colourful and ultra-light SPX®+ rings adorn the glasses like frames, creating a contemporary, individual look.
Pure individuality: Six lens shapes, six Accent Ring colors and six frame colors can be individually combined, allowing each wearer to easily put together the glasses that perfectly match their personality and style. The combination of titanium and the fashionable Accent Ring colors such as amethyst, salmon and petrol underscore the unique aesthetics and refinement of the TMA – The Icon. Accent Rings.
Roland Keplinger, Head of Design at Silhouette, has created the perfect mix of radiant Accent Rings, distinct shapes and deliberate contrasts for this new type of eyewear. He explains: “With the colors and shapes, we have created subtle contrasts that produce an interplay of glossy and matte surfaces. This highlight collection features trendy combinations like brass with petrol or rosé gold and amethyst.”
A prestigious prize, the Red Dot Award for product design received an unprecedented number of applications in 2018. We are therefore all the more pleased that Silhouette was crowned the winner once again. Thank you very much!
