An instant global success when released in 1973, the distinctive design of the Futura Collection immediately captivated the attention of the discerning eyewear customer. Sculpted with space age, futuristic-inspired details it set the standard for statement frames and solidified Silhouette’s reputation as a brand that uniquely succeeds in combining true style with function.

Nearly 50 years on, the cutting-edge styling remains as relevant and desirable as it was then, and with the limited-edition The Silhouette Heritage Collection we are about to see the impact on a whole new generation of eyewear aficionados.

The launch of this limited special-edition Futura Dot will be surrounded by anticipation, not just for its distinctive take on the original designs – and head-turning desirability – but also for its exclusivity. Only 1,964 pairs of this design will be available to buy, making them the ultimate luxury fashion item. The reason behind this exact number? In celebration of the heritage of Silhouette,1964 is the year the premium Austrian eyewear brand was formed and therefore each pair pays exclusive homage to a legacy of master craftsmanship and design excellence.

Uniquely modern look

Updated for 2022, Futura Dot stays true to the design roots of the original, maintaining the distinctively stylish circle feature and flattering cheek cut-out details. “The signature dot plays a central role in this design,” explains Roland Keplinger, Head of Design at Silhouette, adding: “The large lenses that are precisely embedded in the shield work beautifully with the dot to create a particularly modern look. The contours are colored by hand to bring a graphic element to the design and strongly emphasize the shape of the lenses.”

The shades of the new collection are nostalgia inspired but informed by 2022 trends. As well as the perennially stylish monochrome option of Black and White, there’s also the choice of a timelessly chic green in the form of Olive Grove, a modern classic Nostalgic Brown and a playful version with Atlantic Blue.

Quality and craftsmanship

The quality and the craftsmanship of the original collection is both echoed and improved on for The Silhouette Heritage Collection. Created almost entirely by hand, the titanium temples can be trimmed and adjusted to perfectly fit your face shape for a completely bespoke fit. Just as with all Silhouette sunwear, the new models can also be fitted with your prescription lenses. Each pair also comes with a unique serial number on the inside of the shield as well as a certificate and specially designed cleaning cloth.

Let the past take you forwards and make a style statement with The Silhouette Heritage Collection.
