A Dance of Light and ShadeFeaturing a stunning "frame in frame" look, the EOS Collection offers the best of all worlds.
The inspiration for Silhouette’s latest EOS Collection comes from the effect that sunshine has when it falls upon a pool, when light seems to dance on the waves, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of light and shadows. The premium Austrian eyewear manufacturer has captured this scintillating effect and channeled it into the EOS Collection. To achieve it, the translucent frame has been divided up into a series of narrow and wide sections that alternate and create the sunglasses’ “frame-in-frame” appearance. The complex structure acts as a prism, refracting the light into different colors depending on the angle that it hits the frame. Contemporary full-rim eyewear needs to deliver the best of all worlds, and the EOS is no different. Discover: light as well as shadow; retro 70s vibes, but with a modern twist; a beautifully luxurious yet understated look.
Dynamic “frame-in-frame” look
Roland Keplinger, Design Director at Silhouette, explains how the design is achieved: “For the EOS Collection, we created the ‘frame-in-frame’ look by making precise lateral cuts in the translucent body of the glasses. The models come with pilot style and square shaped options, both of which offer a fresh take on retro 70s chic. Meanwhile, the colors are 70s-vintage as well. The Aventura women’s model is available in the colors Deep Purple, Mocca, Warm Caramel, and the flagship color, Crystal Aqua, while the Midtown men’s model comes in Slate Gray, Pine Green, Dark Mocca, and the flagship color, Pure Crystal. The two new models are named after urban districts in Miami - the world-famous Sunshine City. The sun shines there for a remarkable 360 days a year, inviting people to stroll through the streets of Aventura and Midtown.
High-tech SPX®+ makes it ultralight
The EOS look is full of surprises, not least how light and comfortable these glasses are despite their imposing 70s-inspired frame. The amazingly light weight can be attributed to the use of SPX®+, a material that is exclusively made by Silhouette which delivers a number of benefits. In fact, the EOS Collection is a good showcase for its versatility, its fit, and its comfort. And what’s more, SPX®+ is the perfect partner for Silhouette’s time-tested snap hinge technology. Both models can be 1:1 optically glazed, custom-made to their frames at the in-house Lens Lab with the expertise of Silhouette Vision Sensation®.
