Nadja Auermann honoured Titan Minimal Art

2009-10-15

They are the most successful glasses in recent glasses history. Upon being presented in 1999, they immediately caused – as the first glasses without screws, hinges or rims – widespread astonishment, going on over the following years to become some of the most popular glasses available.

They not only became the star of a series – CSI:Miami – but also the lead character in numerous films. A plethora of prominent eyewear users trust the lightest glasses in the world, which became NASA’s standard glasses in 2000. They accompany astronauts on their missions into space as well as the Vienna Philharmonic on all of their tours.

The tenth anniversary of Titan Minimal Art, created with great passion for detail in 264 work steps – 160 by hand – in Austria, is being celebrated not only by the 8 million people who enjoy wearing this rimless masterpiece everyday, but also by Nadja Auermann, who travelled to Linz and was the protagonist in a one-of-a-kind production.

Those who have entrusted Silhouette’s Titan Minimal Art have unmatched uniqueness right before their eyes, the success of which began in 1999. Ten years after its creation, it is still an icon of timeless design, making it the most successful and coveted rimless glasses in the world. “The esteem in which Titan Minimal Art is held knows no limits. We would like to recognise that with a unique production in its honour” said Arnold and Klaus Schmied, the second-generation owners and managing directors of Silhouette International.
Silhouette has produced a Special Edition to congratulate their most successful rimless glasses, which open up unlimited seeing experiences.

This Special Edition has four models and was introduced using retro-futuristic discs designed by one of the most renowned fashion photographers of our time, Nick Knight, who was looking to emphasise the icon’s perfection. The artist succeeded in his endeavour with the clarity, beauty and expressiveness of one of the best-known faces in the world, Nadja Auermann; the same face which was used to bring Titan Minimal Art onto the scene.
Nadja Auermann, known not only for having the longest legs in the world, came to present the pictures showing her shine with Titan Minimal Art in Linz, the city where Silhouette produces up to 3 million pairs of glasses each year.
