Optimal sun protection, relaxation for the eyes, precautionary measures against long-term damage, optimal functionalism and the best design are the most frequently named criteria in the purchasing of sunglasses.

Several tips and tricks should provide assistance in sunglass selection:
- Pay attention to perfect sun protection. 100% UV protection up to a wavelength of 400nm is an absolute must for every pair of sunglasses; a good blue light filter is equally essential. Sunglasses with a wrap-around design nestle close to the face and thereby also protect against rays of sun entering from the side. The technology of the future is called IQ POL by Silhouette – it offers the most intelligent sun protection in all situations, eliminates both irritating and dangerous reflections of sunlight, and offers the best relaxation for sun-strained eyes.

- Sunglasses should not obscure their wearer’s face, but rather should accentuate the characteristic facial features. Therefore, do not select sunglasses according to cosmetic criteria.

- Wearing comfort and lightness are important criteria. Or: Who does not remember the unpleasant pressure marks after a day spent wearing ill-fitting sunglasses? Therefore, attention should be paid to lightness in a new pair of sunglasses – as is ensured by titanium, for example.

- When purchasing a pair of sunglasses, think of those situations in which you want to wear them. If you spend a lot of time on the water or frequently drive a car, then polarisation lenses are essential for eyewear.
