If the sun’s rays are reflected on horizontal surfaces – such as e.g. a rainy road surface – the result is a disruptive glare, which distorts the true picture. For brief moments, not even the contours of approaching vehicles or obstacles are visible to the driver; the driver only sees a flicker. Serious accidents can be the consequence.

For its current SUN 2008 Collection, the Austrian eyewear manufacturer Silhouette has developed ten rimless and screwless sunglass models – all of which are available with polarised sun protection lenses in three different colours.

The light and screwless sunglasses protect the motorist’s eyes with the IQ POL technology in the colours green, grey, and brown, and guarantee a relaxed vision, as well as the most intelligent sun protection for the eyes. While the grey glasses are ideal for bright, sunny days, the green and brown ones also lighten the surroundings in diffuse lighting conditions.

All ten models from the Silhouette SUN 2008 Collection are available as of autumn 2007 at select specialist opticians.
